Parasailing

During our second day in Cabo we met up with our friends that morning at breakfast and found out they were going parasailing. They invited us along for the ride and I am so glad we did! It was a blast. After we finished sailing the skies we got dropped off at a beach where we spent the next few hours floating around and soaking in the rays.

My dad and this brothers have been talking about purchasing some land up here in Utah as a wilderness retreat and vacation spot. I always thought that it was just a dream but on Thursday, my dad flew out and the deal went down!! Dan was able to take Friday morning off and we went down with my dad, cousin, uncle and aunt to go check out the land. It is beautiful up there!! So quiet and peaceful. My dad and cousin were telling me that you can purchase these log cabin sets and they are both planning on building them up there. Dan's favorite part of the ride up there was to get to fire off his new gun.... and everyone else's. It was a blast (pun)!
The best line of the day was when my cousin said that we need to hang up a sign at the front of the property that reads "nothing here is worth your life".

Zip Lining in Cabo!!

Hello all! Here are some more fun pictures from our cruise that we went on at the end of April (which I am slowly blogging about)
Dan and I  planned on doing one shore excursion on our trip and we picked zip lining. I had done it once before with my family back in high school and had such a blast that I wanted to go again with Dan.
We looked up how much it would be to book through our cruise and it was $130 per person. Since Dan and I are such smart and savvy shoppers, we decided to book it ourselves online! We found a place in Cabo that was the exact same company our cruise worked with and the cost was only $85!
We got off our boat and hopped on this bus that took us down a very sketchy dirt road off the side of the highway. The road kept getting narrower and narrower as we traveled up and up the side of a mountain until we reached this dessert like resort. Thankfully the place we were zip lining from was not as sketchy as our bus ride.

We weren't supposed to but we snuck off a banana and an apple and some little bags of cereal off the boat. I'm glad we did too because the food they served up there was $17 for a burger!!

When we got back to the port we were both pretty hungry and craving some Mexican tacos (because of course we were in mexico). Dan's Spanish came in handy when he asked one of the vendors where the best tacos were. He told us to follow him and he lead us down an alley, through a hole in the fence and toward a parked truck we lawn furniture set up. It was by far authentic looking..... we saw some Americans sitting at one of the tables really enjoying their food and they told us that this was the best they've had. Dan asked me about 4x if I wanted to stay. I think he was afraid of getting sick haha. I thought to myself that we might as well give it a shot! The food was so tasty!! Definitely worth it!

Dan was telling me all about al pastor tacos and how they are his favorite. He ordered 3. I ordered a fish taco, an al pastor, and carne asada. The al pastor was my favorite. Al pastor is marinated pork and pineapple and it has been cooked on a rotisserie. Yummy.

Pawn Stars

Dan and I finally got to go on our honeymoon last week. It only took us 6 months!!! We went on a Mexican Rivera Carnival Cruise. We left out of Long Beach, CA and spent two days in Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. It was such a blast and honestly, the BEST value for your money for a vacation.
We started our drive down to Long Beach last saturday and as we were driving, we decided to break up our drive by spending the night in vegas. I hoped onto my phone and loaded up my "Priceline Negotiater" App.
We found a room for $35 at the Downtowner Motel. That's right, the Downtowner Motel. It was ghetto hahahah. PLEASE click on that link and look at the pictures of the beautiful rooms. Here was ours:

I really wish I took a picture of the outside. The place looked like such a dump. Dan and I still laugh about how crazy we were to stay there. The room really wasn't that bad, and we felt safe because of the stairwell was bared and locked and the 24/7 security guard was always on call hah.
We wandered up and down the strip, watched the fountains at the Bellagio, melted in the 100 degree weather, and lived vicariously through watching the blackjack players.
Vegas was fun but the best part was when we got to go down to Gold and Silver Pawn, the location of the hit TV show Pawn Stars.
My dad has great taste in television shows. He's been the one to introduce me to some of my favorite shows: Storage Wars, Deadliest Catch, American Pickers and of course, Pawn Stars.

We got there around 10 and the line was already out the door. We were hoping to see the cast but they told us that they only come in when they hear about something really really good.

The shop was smaller than it looks on tv and most of it was souvenirs, but they did have so really cool (and expensive) things in the shop.

Sunday morning we got up early and continued on our journey to Long Beach.

Hoppy Easter!

We are still trying to get our new camera all figured out with the timer. You can see that this is an action shot of Dan trying to run in! Hahaha, but here is a picture of our first Easter being married!

We are looking forward to Easter dinner tonight with Jana, Stephen and Linsey. Dan and I bought a $20 ham for $7.22 (I LOVEEEEEE price matching) so we will be serving that this evening. I am so excited to spend Easter with family. It is going to be great.

We had TWO Easter Bunnies come and deliver treats!! Thank you so much!

Cupcakes and Burgers

Last night Dan and I went to his cousin's wedding reception. It was so cool because it was in a real barn!! They had it decorated so pretty and rustic. I loved it. They also had these delish gourtmet cupcakes so of course Dan and I had to try them all. Our favorite by far was the pink lemonaid cupcake.

We also did a little photoshoot outside with Stephen and Lisney. After we went and got burgers. It was a super fun evening. Congrats Andrew and Brooke!

Nitrous Party

I cannot believe that my most feared class has ended up being my absolute favorite. Just 4 months ago I was DREADING having to give injections in my pain control class, and now I am sad that there is nothing else to learn! It has been so fun learning and practicing on each other.
To top everything off, I was given the "Best Injection" award. That's right... the best.
I wish I took some more pictures but I only have a picture from the first day when I injected a lime and one from the last day when I got to have some nitrous!

BYU Lu'au

Jana and I both grew up dancing: tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop were our lives for many, many years! When I got to college, I decided to spice it up a little and try ballroom dancing. It was a blast! Jana decided to mix it up with some polynesian dancing. She has been doing it for two years now and decided to join the polynesian dance club that BYU offers. They had a big show last week and it was SO fun getting to go and watch her!

The turn out was HUGE! It was so much fun!

The dancing and personality on stage was so fun to watch.

Festival of Colors 2012

What a quick year it has been! Feels like just yesterday when Dan, Jana and I was headed up there. So much has happened in one year! This time we went with Stephen and his girlfriend Linsey. We got lost, of course, that seems to be my tradition every year but we got there in time for the first throwing.
It was such a blast and a great way to welcome in spring!

Steve kept throwing orange chalk in my face and that is why my face is SUPER orange.

December Begins

I know, I have been super lacking in my blogging. I have just been so insanely busy! (as I am sure everyone is during this holiday season and you guys are keeping up on your blogging, so I really have no excuse... ) But i just feel like it has gotten to the point where I need to hop on and write about what has been going on in our lives.

Today was the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional and it was so wonderful. We invited one of our couple friends over, aaron and cassie, and it was great spending some time with them and watching the message. One of my favorite parts was watching the Bible Video that the church has just put out. It is called Gift to the World. Click on the link to watch it!!

Yesterday Dan and I got invited to a "Registry Wrap-Up" party at bed bath and beyond where everything was 20% off. We really didnt need much at all because we got more than we needed, but we bought a gingerbread train (not house) kit, an extra set of sheets, some pillows, and a few other odds and ends. But the highlight was that we entered a raffle when we first walked in and after being in the store for about 10 minutes, our name was called over the overhead system saying we won!! I was so excited. I have never won anything before!!!

Friday night Dan's company took us all out to thanksgiving point to go on a trolley ride around the grounds and look at the light. It was the snow made it magical (and freezing). We went into one of the shops and found free apple cider (i love free things) and then we boarded the trolley. Really christmasy.

Thursday was dinner group which is always a blast. A couple in our singles ward invited Dan and I to join their weekly dinner group and it's always a great time, not only do I not have to cook on those days, but we get to socialize, play games, chat and see our friends.

Earlier this week, Dan and I had our date night and went and got burgers and instead of buying milkshakes, we decided to make our own. They were just perfect, and tasted better than any milkshake you'd buy.

Thin mint... yummm.

Last week was thanksgiving. Dan had to work the day before and the day after so we decided to stay local and go to Dan's aunt's house. A decision well made. The food was yummy and delish. And as a thanksgiving delight, I reached 100 days on my gratitude blog!!!

Black friday Dan and I both worked. Yes, I worked haha. I got hired on to work just on Black Friday at the Children's Place at the mall. I thought I'd just be greeting customers but I was actually put in the back folding. Folding and folding and folding..... but you know what, money is work and work is money! And the nice thing about black friday theses days is that it usually extends into black saturdays as well. So last saturday Dan and I went to target and bought us an adorable, $30, black friday deal, charlie brown christmas tree! Defiantly a must for getting into the Christmas spirit.
